If you go to the UK this summer and you need some cash and
you want to give some charity go to a cash machine. This summer it is possible
if you use a credit card or debit card you can give small amounts of charity
between one pound and 250 pounds. The banks are able to choose whom they
support and the people can choose to whom they want to give some money. Royal
Bank of Scotland and independent Bank Machine will be the first but soon others
will follow. This all is an initiative from the Government. They found it
important to find new ways to support charitable and voluntary action. The Bank
Machine has already received more than 500 registrations of charities.
I think this is a good initiative from the government. Now people
are able to give directly a small amount to a voluntary organization of their
choice. Personally, I found it difficult
to give to a voluntary organization because it is difficult to now what they
exactly doing with your money. It is the same with a disaster fund. Of course
you want to help the people in a country where just a big disaster has taken
place, but you never now if the money is spent well and go directly to the
people who need it.
